Share Progress, Plans at Americas Nuclear Energy Symposium 2002
More than 170 government officials, industry executives, and researchers from ten countries convened among the palms at the Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables, Florida, on October 16–18 to share national perspectives on nuclear science and technology and the future of the nuclear industry.
The Americas Nuclear Energy Symposium 2002 was sponsored and hosted by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and the American Nuclear Society and coordinated by the Hemispheric Center for Environmental Technology at Florida International University. The overall outlook was one of optimism about the renaissance of an industry whose expansion has been stalled by public questions about safety, security, and nuclear waste.
